Steps to Starting a Business in Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone

Shares
RAK Economic Trade Zone
Read Carefully

The RAK Free Trade Zone started in the year 2000. After the successful launch of RAK FTZ, the government of the Northern Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah formed a second free zone called RAKIA (Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority) in 2005. In 2017, the government merged the two into the RAK Economic Zone (RAKEZ).

The newly formed RAKEZ offers more services than either of the predecessor free zones on their own.  RAKEZ is committed to its promise of empowering free zone and non-free zone investors by offering a cost-effective and world-class economic zone with customisable packages and services as well as state-of-the-art facilities.

RAKEZ has three industrial free zones, an academic zone, a media zone and a business zone. Each of these zones has dedicated facilities to cater to clients within that sector.

Launch Your RAKEZ Company in 3 Simple Steps

The first step is to customise the business package that you seek. With the help of a consultant or a representative from RAKEZ, you must select a suitable legal entity, licence type and facility. There are a lot of combinations possible therefore we would urge you to have a discussion with a trained professional to learn about the benefits of each choice.

The second step is to submit the necessary documentation for the type of company that you have selected. The documentation can be extensive and is subject to change. For the latest list, please consult RAKEZ.

The final step is to pay for your fees and collect your business license to commence trading. The visa process and company account opening can proceed after you have received the company paperwork. You will also need to appoint an approved auditor from a list supplied by RAKEZ.

Mazeed Services for RAKEZ

RAKEZ recognizes that your business may require a variety of services to get going. In order to facilitate start-ups, they have a set of support services under the name “Mazeed”. This service provides the translation of documents, notary services, procurement support, insurance, logistics, recruitment of staff, training, event management, creation and printing of corporate materials and more.
